DESCRIPTION:
G&M Simons, 49 King Square London private label for Sam Simpson, Clarksville Tenn., high grade key wind key set swing out gilt mvt with lever escapement, fusee, cut bimetallic balance finely foliate engraved and scrolled solid balance cock with diamond endstone, round turned plate pillars and dust cover engraved for private label. The movement is housed in an engraved heavy lion hallmarked 18K YG hunting case with Roman numeral porcelain single sunk dial and fancy hands, s#5168 48mm 118g TW c1825
CONDITION:
GRO (winds, sets and ticks), the movement is in good condition with one area of film from a fingerprint, some minor oxidation to the bright work and a few fine scratches. The case shows significant wear to the engraving but is in otherwise good condition. The dial has specks of dirt and one small flake repair under the second's bit. The crystal has a scratch in it and the minute hand appears to be a replacement.
